A Camgirl's Guide To Having The Right People Around You
I'm picky about members. I'm sorry, I know how obnoxious that sounds, but hear me out.
As a camgirl, I realized pretty early that my experience of camming was going to be largely dependent on the kind of people I attracted to my cam room. And I made the decision that I'd set the tone and atmosphere of my room so I would attract the kind of people I'd be friends with in real life anyway: people who are funny, a little irreverent, smart, often well-read, and very balanced in their outlook and beliefs.
As I see the popularity of being a webcam model steadily growing on social media, a lot of the newcomers to this space seem to not realize that, and purely see camming as a way to make a lot of easy money, instead of it being a carefully nurtured social space.
The pros get it, of course - - every top camgirl I've come across is extremely competent at how she cultivates and nurtures her cam room and her rapport with her members. They're my role models, and I hope someday I'm as good at it as they are.
The reason why it's important to curate your members is that they're the people you're going to be around most of your day for the next few years. Your members will be your closest friends and confidantes, so you must use your judgment when deciding who to let in, instead of blindly following the money/attention/adulation.
I feel pretty lucky to have the members I have. They're warm, friendly, accomodating, and I learn something new from them every time I hang out. Just like my friends in real life. To be honest, if I had members I didn't like, I'm too transparent a person for them to not notice it within a few interactions, so it seems my inability to put on a front has had an unexpected upside.
If you're reading this and you just got into camming, please be mindful of this. I know enough girls in this industry who go down rabbit holes they never intended to by choosing the wrong members. The good news is, if you do manage to curate your membership well, you'll end up having people around you whom you can call close friends, and you'll find yourself looking forward to the next time you go on cam - - it really doesn't get better than that, does it?
