Do Looks Matter In Camming?
Before you decide to start camming with a paper bag over your head, hear me out. I don't consider myself particularly attractive, and, as a camgirl, I've seen girls do well no matter what they look like.
I've also seen some really beautiful girls (I'm bisexual so I know what I'm talking about) struggle to maintain membership.
And yet, the stereotype of "looks matter" continues to propagate. So here's my breakdown of the role of looks, and how being good-looking can often be more of a hindrance than an asset.
Looks matter when that's the only information you have about a person. For example, on Tinder, if you decide to set your profile image as that of an amazing tree you noticed on your way home from therapy, you're kinda missing the point. Not because people are superficial, but because first impressions matter.
I'm sure you've had enough experiences where you've "swiped right" on someone who seemed attractive, and they managed, somehow, in record time, to disappoint you enough that you stopped using the app altogether.
The same thing happens in online interactions in cam rooms. If you're an exceptionally attractive camgirl, you may get brownie points when it comes to getting attention - more people may click on your profile. But they're not very likely to stick around if you don't have a personality that complements your looks.
Camming almost has nothing to do with looks in the long run, because most members will continue to engage with you based on how close a connection you can forge and maintain.

I'm not saying let yourself go completely, you still want to be presentable and look your best, because you're on camera and on the internet, it's a public space. But don't worry about how many ships your face is capable of launching (Illiad joke, I know), I'm sure you'll do well as long as you're funny, personable, and creative.
